Vice President Sara Duterte sinuko na rin P150M confidential fund ng DepEd

Vice President Sara Duterte hindi na rin ipinilit P150 milyong confidential fund para sa Department of Education (DepEd) sa susunod na taon.

Ayon ito sa sinabi ni Senadora Pia Cayetano, nagdepensa ng panukalang pondo ng DepEd, sa deliberasyon sa panukalang pondo ng plenaryo ng Senado.

“We are all parents who want to protect our children. Ang seguridad ng mga bata ay seguridad ng kinabukasan ng ating bayan. Nonetheless, DepEd will no longer pursue confidential funds,” sabi ni Cayetano, sa binasang statement ni Duterte.

“We humbly request that the funds be realigned to the National Learning Recovery Program because we do not expect good scores for the 2022 PISA results coming out this December,” dagdag niya.

Nasa P150 million ang confidential fund na unang hinihingi ng DepEd sa Kongreso na ngayon ay kanila na ring binitawan.

Ayon sa nakasaad  na hinihiling ng ahensya na ilipat na lang ang confidential fund sa national recovery program bunsod na rin ng inaasahang hindi magandang resulta ng 2022 Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) na lalabas ngayong Disyembre.

Ang nasabing programa ay para sa pagpapahusay pa ng pagtuturo sa mga bata ukol sa reading comprehension at mathematics.
